Finding the Best Fit

Our collars come in six standard sizes and our leashes in two lengths.  But, don’t be limited by these – we also do custom lengths for collars and leashes if you need one larger, shorter or longer!

Mini (5″ – 7″)

This collar is for teeny pups (under 5 pounds).  We use 5/8″ wide light webbing (lighter than our traditional webbing and 5/8″ hardware with is much lighter than our usual hardware).  99.9 per cent of our 3/4″ wide styles are available in this size.

Extra small (7″ – 9″)

This collar is also for small dogs and works well for those between 5-12 pounds.  Depending on the dog and your needs, we can do it on our lighter 5/8″ webbing and lighter hardware or use our usual 3/4″ webbing.

Small (10″ – 14″)

This size is perfect for dogs weighing between 12 and 20 pounds, depending on their neck size.  This size is available in 3/4″ and 1″ widths.  If your dog is on the upper end of this size but a medium would be just too big, please contact us and we can add on an inch or two to give them a little wiggle room 🙂

Medium (14″ – 18″)

This size is perfect for dogs weighing between 25 and 40 pounds, depending on their neck size.  This size is available in 3/4″, 1″ and 1.5″ widths.

Large (18″ – 24″)

This size is perfect for dogs weighing between 45 and 60 pounds.  It can accommodate up to 75 pounds if your dog’s neck size fits between the size range.  This size is available in 1″ and 1.5″ widths.

Extra Large (24″ – 29″)

This is our largest standard size and is best for dogs over 75 pounds.  This size is available in 1″ and 1.5″ widths.

Leashes (4′ and 6′ lengths)

We can do matching leashes for all collars, expect holiday styles that are only available for a limited time in November/December.  Leashes for mini and extra small collars are also not a standard order on our 5/8″ webbing but please contact us if you are interested.   Standard leashes are available in 3/4″, 1″ and 1.5″ widths.

Martingales

All our 3/4″, 1″ and 1.5″ sizes are also available in martingale style. This style is necessary for some breeds where the head is smaller than the neck (greyhounds, for instance).  Some owners simply like the pull and resistance that this collar applies when a dog pulls.  This collar takes longer to make, and different hardware, thus has a slightly higher cost than a standard collar.

Need something special?

If you need a custom collar size, we can do our best to accommodate!  Some giant breeds need a really long collar and we can do any length you need – the only thing we can’t accommodate is a collar wider than 1.5″.  We can also do shorter or longer leashes, depending on your needs.
